How do I use sketches in cameras and floor plans?

With sketches, you can mark areas directly on the camera image or the plan, and find all your sketches collected under My Sketches.

With the sketch feature, you capture what happened on site or what's coming up next. You draw directly on camera images and plans, add arrows, areas and text, and have everything in one place when you need it, for example for your weekly meeting.

Every sketch follows the same principle: You open the sketching tool in the camera or plan, draw with the tools on the right, and then find the sketch again under My Sketches.

My Sketches

Under My Sketches you find all your sketches in one place: every saved camera sketch and every sketch from your plans as a separate entry. Open the overview with the My Sketches button at the top right of the camera or plan.

Functions:

  • Filter by All, Camera or Plan

  • Open and continue editing by clicking an entry

  • Rename and delete via the three-dot menu on the entry

Sketches in the camera

You can sketch in all camera views, including videos. As soon as you hover over the image or video, the toolbar appears at the bottom. There you find the sketch icon. If you click it in a video, the current moment is captured as a still image that you then sketch on.

Clicking the sketch icon opens the editing window. The sketch is automatically named after the camera with date and time and is marked as Draft at first.

Functions:

  • Draw with pen, arrow, rectangle, ellipse, polyline and text in the color of your choice

  • Edit shapes: Click a shape to adjust its fill, outline and line width, or to duplicate or delete it

  • Layers: All shapes are listed on the right

  • Blur to hide sensitive information before you share the sketch

  • Download and print via the icons at the top right of the editing window

❕ The blur function only applies to this one sketch. The camera image and your camera's fixed privacy masks stay unchanged.

Saving a sketch

Camera sketches are not saved automatically. Click Save to My Sketches to keep your sketch. You can then change the title using the pencil icon.

Via the three-dot menu at the top right, you can delete the sketch.

Sketches in plans

Under Floor Plans you draw directly on your uploaded plans. Unlike in the camera, sketches here are saved automatically. You can create as many sketches per plan as you like. Each sketch is its own group with any number of shapes and gets its own entry under My Sketches.

Click New sketch in the Sketches section on the right, or click the sketch icon in the toolbar at the bottom. The tools on the right work the same way as in the camera. Every shape you draw appears under its sketch, for example as pen, polyline or text. Use the eye icon to show or hide a sketch.

Copying sketches from another plan

With Copy from other plan you transfer sketches to other plans, for example a legend to all floors. In the Copy sketches from other plan window, select the plan you want to copy from.

Exporting a plan with sketches

Via the three-dot menu at the top right, you export the plan with Export PDF or Export JPEG.

❕ Before exporting, hide all sketches that shouldn't appear in the export.

Example: weekly meeting

Teams use plan sketches as the basis for their weekly meeting:

  • Prepare: Create a Legend sketch with one color per category, for example formwork, reinforcement and concreting for slabs and walls. Transfer it to all floors with Copy from other plan and mark in one sketch per week, for example “Week 39”, which areas are coming up.

  • Discuss: Open the sketches in the meeting directly from My Sketches.

  • Follow up: Work in the feedback or create the sketch for the next week.
